7/18-24/04 I skipped going to the property again this week - doctor's orders. My hands and my right elbow still hurt pretty bad so I have had second thoughts about how to prepare the logs for varnishing. It seems pretty clear that if I went back to my old methods I would probably get repetitive stress injury to the point it might do permanent damage. I have decided to take Jim Renfroe's advice and use a pressure washer instead of planing and scraping. I got out his book "The Log Home Owner's Manual" and read the section on pressure washing. It tells how to do it and what kind of pressure washer to buy. I have decided to buy one, but I might rent one for a week before I do just to see if it really works
