1/25-27/05 I went up to the property for 3 days: Tuesday through Thursday.
I stopped and visited with Marilyn and George on the way. There was hardly any snow left in the mountains. I arrived at 1:00. It was like a late spring day. My driveway had evidently been plowed but I don't think there had been any new snow since last week. The temperature was 34 degrees.
After moving in and having lunch, I sanded all the surfaces due for another coat of varnish. Then I planed the rest of the logs in the southeast bedroom wall except for the bottom two.
On Wednesday, I planed, scraped, and gouged all of the southeast bedroom wall and 8 feet of the top 3 logs on the northeast bedroom wall. Then I swept up all the chips and vacuumed the walls and floor so I was ready to varnish.
On Thursday morning, I was happy to learn that it was Mozart's birthday. The radio played some of my favorite music while I varnished the entire southeast bedroom wall including closet and window and also the 3 logs in the northeast wall. After cleaning out my brush I spent 45 minutes outside hauling branches from the trees that fell up to a burn pile up by the privy. I left for home at 1:30.
