Construction Journal Entry Week of 4/10/05

4/13-14/05 Andrew and I went up to the property for 2 days: Wednesday and Thursday.

Andrew was off from school for Spring break and wanted to come with me. He hurt his shoulder Sunday evening, I took him to the doctor on Monday, and on Tuesday it still hurt bad enough so that we delayed our trip another day. His shoulder felt pretty good on Wednesday morning.

We stopped at Marilyn's on the way up but nobody was home. We arrived at the property at 12:30. It was a nice 48 degrees out. After moving in we loaded the wheelbarrow in the pickup after I had given Andrew a ride in it from the cabin down the hill. I need the wheelbarrow for a project in Seattle.

I sanded eight logs and the window in the utility room while Andrew held the vacuum cleaner near the sander. That makes it a lot easier and faster than doing it myself. I also planed the top five logs on the northwest utility room wall, swept up the chips, and vacuumed the wall and floor.

In the evening Andrew and I played Speed and 20 questions. We had fun.

On Thursday morning, I scraped the glue from the Grid C3-D3 window and installed the molding trim on the Grid E2-E3 window. Then Andrew and I varnished the bottom eight logs in the northeast utility room wall. We left for home at 11:00.
