2/27-3/1/07 I went up to the property for 3 days: Tuesday through Thursday.
I arrived at 12:15. There was about 5 inches of stiff new snow on the ground. I was able to drive in with no problem. I was happy to find that the water ran out of the hose pretty fast. I timed it and found that it took 27 seconds to fill a gallon jug.
After lunch I took a short nap and then went to work. I sanded the four logs that I varnished last week and then planed and scraped two more logs below the windows. It snowed lightly all day.
On Wednesday my left knee hurt pretty bad. I didn't know if I had bumped it or what. There was about 4 inches of new snow on the ground and on the trees. It was beautiful. When the sun came out, the snow would begin falling from the trees. I got the camera out and took some video shots of the cabin with the snow falling out of the trees.
I went to work planing and scraping and got the last log below the windows done. Then I set up a scaffold tower so I could reach the Grid B purlin and the gable wall above it. I hung tarps and lights so I could work on the wall and the purlin. I got a start planing the logs but I didn't get any of them up there ready for varnish. I cleaned up the chips and vacuumed the floor and the wall to be ready to varnish the seven logs that were prepared.
On Thursday morning, my knee felt a lot better. I think I hurt it by kneeling while I was working on the wall on Tuesday afternoon. I probably should get some knee pads. I varnished the seven logs that were prepared and left for home at 12:45.
