1/1-2/15 Ellen and I went up to Camp Serendipity for 2 days: Thursday and Friday.
On the way, we stopped and visited with Uncle Charles. Then we did some cross-country skiing at the Stevens Pass Nordic Center. From there, we proceeded on to Leavenworth where we did some casual window shopping before having a nice dinner at Andreas Keller.
After dinner, we drove back up the Tumwater canyon in the dark and arrived at Camp Serendipity at about 7:00 PM. The temperature outside was 16º but it was nice and cozy in the cabin. After moving our gear in, I started a fire in the wood stove and got the place really nice and warm. We had an enjoyable evening but we had a hard time getting to sleep. I suspect there was too much chocolate in the dessert we had at dinner.
In the morning, we had our breakfast and then drove down to the closed-off Little Wenatchee Road where we spent about 3 hours snowshoeing. The weather was cold but clear and beautiful.
After snowshoeing, we drove back to the cabin, had our lunch, and then took off for home at about 3:00. It was a very enjoyable couple of days.
