1/13-17/25 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.
It was a beautiful clear drive over the pass. I arrived at noon and found the same conditions as last week and so I parked at the foot of the stairs in the normal way. I brought my gear up in 2 trips and hoisted the flag in between. Then I had my lunch, unpacked my gear, and then walked to the grave.
I saw John working outside so I went into his place and talked with him. Then when I got to the grave, I met Ken walking in the other direction and so I walked back to my cabin with him.
Then I noticed I got new text messages from both Gayle and Bill. Gayle reported a change of address and Bill asked for some advice for a friend of his who just developed cancer. Then I took a short nap.
On Tuesday morning it was a cold 16 degrees outside. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and walked to the grave wearing my parka hood under my hat. When I got back, I had my lunch and a nap and spent the rest of the afternoon practicing the piano.
On Wednesday morning the temperature was slightly warmer at 18 degrees. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and then walked to the grave. I was joined by John and Abby who were also out walking.
After lunch and a nap, I practiced the piano and then began clearing the table in the loft so that I could start working on a 5000-piece jigsaw puzzle.
On Thursday morning the temperature had warmed up to 23 degrees. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and then I happened to see John walking Abby on the road below. I called to him and invited him up to visit the cabin. He had never seen my cabin. He came right up, and we had a nice visit in the cabin. He was interested in my puzzle project and spent some time looking at the previous 5000-piece puzzle I had assembled showing the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Then we got to talking about classical music and he said his favorite piece was Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. I played the first part of it for him which I am currently trying to learn. That was fun.
John also had a chance to see the progress on the stone wall I am building. When he left, I walked to the grave and then had my lunch and a nap. The weather had warmed up nicely, the sun was out, and I decided I would begin working on a rack to hold water jugs in the truck bed. I came up with a plan to use some old lumber that I had, and I began making parts.
On Friday morning the temperature outside was 18 degrees. I practiced the piano, walked to the grave, and then got ready to leave for home. I had my lunch and left for home at 12:45. It was a fun eventful week.
