Construction Journal Entry Week of 1/22/23

1/24-27/23 I went up to Camp Serendipity for four days: Tuesday through Friday.

The road was clear and the trip was easy going over the mountains. Just before I reached the driveway, I stopped and talked with Dave Bartholomew who was walking on the road.

There had been no new snow to speak of so I drove in, turned around, and parked at the foot of the stairs heading out as I normally do. I brought my gear up in two trips with no shoveling. After hoisting the flag, having my lunch and my nap, I practiced the piano.

On Wednesday the temperature was 26 degrees outside when I got up. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and then organized all of the light bulbs that I had stored in a footlocker. I separated them by 60 and 100 Watt and moved them to dresser drawers where they will be easy to access. Looking out the dining room window I could see smoke near the top of Mount David. That seemed strange to me.

In the afternoon I walked to the Bartholomew's and attended the monthly emergency preparedness meeting that they host. During the meeting, Dave Picarello confirmed that the Sears Creek fire was still burning in places and that accounts for the smoke I had seen.

On Thursday the temperature outside was 23 degrees when I got up. I had a relaxing day. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio and then read before having my lunch and a nap. When I got up, I practiced the piano some more and did some more reading.

On Friday the temperature was 30 degrees outside. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and then, using Woolite, I washed 3 wool hats that I use for sleeping. Then I had my lunch and left for home at about 12:50. It had been a nice relaxing week.
