Construction Journal Entry Week of 12/29/24

1/2-4/25 I went up to Camp Serendipity for three days: Thursday through Saturday.

I arrived at 12:30 and found one inch of new snow on top of the snow from last week. There had been no other snowfalls and there had been no ploughing activity on the driveway. Nonetheless I drove in, turned around, and parked at the usual place at the foot of the stairs with no problem.

The stairs were completely bare and wet, and the trails were in good shape. I brought my gear up in two trips and hoisted the flag in between the two trips. I was expecting a lot more work clearing the stairs, so I had packed and eaten a sack lunch. So, after bringing my gear up, I unpacked my gear and then took a nap.

When I got up, I watered the plants and then practiced the piano.

On Friday morning when I got up, the temperature outside was 25 degrees. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio for a while, and then walked to the grave. It was snowing during my walk and there was about one or two inches of snow on the road that had not been plowed. There were tracks of only two vehicles that had traveled on the road since the snowfall both heading eastbound.

Back at the cabin I had my lunch and a nap. Then I practiced the piano and then filled and staged 4 jugs of water. Then I listened to the radio and did some reading.

On Saturday morning the temperature outside was 25 degrees again but there had been no new snowfall. I practiced the piano and then loaded the jugs into the truck. Then I had lunch, packed up my gear, and left for home at 11:30. It was another short but fun week.
