Construction Journal Entry Week of 3/5/23

3/6-10/23 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.

The roads over were good even though there had been some recent snow. I arrived at 11:40. There was six inches of new unplowed snow on the driveway and parking area, but I had no trouble parking. The stairs had melted off and the trails were firm. I carried my gear up in two trips but I had to use the Trapper Nelson for the second one.

I had my lunch and I had just awakened from my nap when the doorbell rang. It was Byron. He had walked down to get his mail and he stopped in for a visit. We caught each other up to date on recent medical issues. He left at 4:20.

On Tuesday morning the temperature outside was 23 degrees. It snowed lightly off and on most of the day. I practiced the piano, did some writing, and then had my lunch and a nap. When I got up, I walked to the Williams' but they were not home. Back down on the road Karen Arnold stopped and we had a nice chat.

On Wednesday morning the temperature was 23 degrees outside again. I practiced the piano and then walked to the school bus turn around so I could leave a happy birthday message for Bill. I couldn't reach him by phone, so I left a text message. When I got back, I did some reading and then had my lunch and a nap.

When I got up, I did some more reading and practicing the piano and then Bill called me back. We had a nice long conversation.

On Thursday morning it was 25 degrees outside with a skiff of new snow on the ground. I practiced the piano, did some more writing, and then vacuumed the first floor. After having my lunch and a nap, I played the piano some more, did some reading, and just relaxed.

On Friday, I practiced the piano, and had lunch. Then I left for home at 12:45. Except for a vague, mild, background of anxiety about my upcoming heart surgery, it was a relaxing week.
