Construction Journal Entry Week of 4/2/23

4/3-5/23 I went up to Camp Serendipity for three days: Monday through Wednesday.

I arrived at 12:10 on a beautiful clear day. I carried my gear up in two trips, but I used the Trapper Nelson for the second trip because I had a lot of stuff. I hoisted the flag, had my lunch, and then a long nap. When I got up, I unpacked my gear.

On Tuesday morning the weather was clear and still. After practicing the piano, I went outside and spent the morning burning the boards in the pile.

After lunch and a nap, I did some reading and then went out and poked the fire.

On Wednesday morning the temperature outside when I got up was 20 degrees. I practiced the piano and discovered that I was able to recover my memory, but it took work for every note. I'll be glad to get back to normal.

I went outside and checked the Sequoia trees and found that they are all still buried under frozen snow. I poked the ashes of the fire and determined that it was sufficiently out. I listened to the radio while I packed up to leave and had my lunch. The week was cut short because of my doctor's appointment on Thursday. I was happy at least to get those boards burned and to spend some time in the mountains. I left for home at 12:30.
