4/10-14/23 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.
I made a stop at the post office, then the tax accountant, and then drove over the mountains in the rain. I arrived at 12:40 and found the snow almost gone from the trails. I didn't wear my Sorrell boots for the first time this season. I brought my gear up in two trips and hoisted the flag. After lunch and a nap, I did some exercises.
On Tuesday the temperature outside was 33 degrees outside when I got up. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and then installed a nice LED shop light over the workbench in the crawl space.
After lunch and a nap, I got the irrigation drip running into Paul's funnel. Then I went to dig out Runty and saw that it was already peeking above the snow. I proceeded on and dug John out from under the snow, and then Earl. Then I could see that Ellen was already peeking above the snow but unfortunately the snow had broken about 10 inches off the top of the tree.
Next, I dug Dave out from under the snow. Bill was already peeking out a little bit, but I dug some more snow away from it. Then I dug Cam out from under deep snow that had it laid over flat. The rest of the trees were already out. It started snowing at 4:00 o'clock but it didn't stick, and it didn't snow for long.
On Wednesday morning it was 25 degrees outside when I got up. I practiced the piano and then I talked to Robert for about an hour. I did some reading, listened to the radio, and then had my lunch and a nap. When I got up, I went for a one-hour walk up the road. Then I replaced the balusters that had come loose on the back porch railing.
On Thursday morning the temperature outside was 23 degrees. Dave called first thing in the morning, and we had a nice long conversation. Then I practiced the piano and was sort of happy that my memory was coming back a little. I was sort of unhappy that it was so slow.
After lunch and a nap, I prepared a jar of fertilizer solution for Tiger, the snake plant. Next, I went for an hour walk to the bridge. I noticed that the neighbors across the road were here, so I went over and visited them and chatted for a little while.
On Friday morning the temperature outside was 22 degrees. I practiced the piano, and then gave Paul a little fertilizer in the funnel. I got ready to leave a little early and left at noon so that I could stop in at Marilyn's at 1:00 o'clock. I picked up a beautiful painting that I will hang in the log home. It was another fun relaxing week in the mountains and I'm happy to be feeling better every day.
