7/24-28/23 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.
I arrived at 12:10 and brought my gear up in two trips. I hoisted the flag and then had my lunch. I had come down with a cold over the weekend, so I sniffed salt water before taking my nap, trying to reduce the symptoms.
When I got up, I went for a walk to Eunice Henry's grave and to the river access at that point. I could feel my cold developing in my throat and chest.
On Tuesday morning I woke up sick and sniffed some more salt water. I took Dayquil every four hours all day.
After practicing the piano, I walked to the bridge with Dean and his dog River. Then I had my lunch and a nap. I spent the afternoon relaxing, playing the piano, listening to the radio, and music.
On Wednesday I felt a little better. I had taken a NyQuil before bed and I didn't feel the need to take anymore medication after that. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio and then took a call from Rita, Earl's sister.
I walked to the bridge and talked a little with Barb, who stopped on the way on the road. I spent some time in the bushes looking for Earl's cabin, but I didn't find it. After lunch and a nap, I practiced the piano and read.
On Thursday morning I practiced the piano and then walked for 45 minutes up the road. I listened to the radio and then had my lunch and a nap.
There was a lot of thunder a couple of times and a short squall. Bill called and we had a nice long conversation. I was feeling a lot better.
On Friday morning I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and did some writing. I left for home at 12:30 after a rather unproductive week. I don't like being sick.
