10/18-22/21 I went up to Camp Serendipity for 5 days: Monday through Friday.

I arrived at 12:10 and used the wheelbarrow to take some yard waste from the truck to the compost pile. Then I used the wheelbarrow to bring a bunch of gear up to the cabin. The weather was warm, so I did not build a fire. I hoisted the flag, had my lunch and a nap, and then spent some time looking at an old photo album. I finished the afternoon by practicing the piano.

On Tuesday the temperature outside was 30 degrees. I built a fire in the stove. Then after practicing the piano, I mudded the seam in the bathroom.

After having my lunch, I drove to the Ranger station to get Internet access and did a Zoom test with Ellen. The jury selection will be done by Zoom and I hope I can do it while I'm at Camp Serendipity. The test worked fine so hopefully I can do it.

After taking a nap, I practiced the piano and then went outside and did a little surveying. I also cut a bunch of brush up by the privy. Just as I was finishing dinner, I got a nice surprise phone call from John, and we had a great conversation.

On Wednesday I built another fire in the stove, and then Dave called. We had a great long conversation. Soon after we hung up, Robert called and said that he would be coming over to visit. After practicing the piano, Robert showed up and we had a nice visit in the cabin.

After lunch and a nap, I scraped, sanded, and chiseled the mud in the bathroom to prepare it for painting. It's very awkward working in the narrow space between the toilet cabinet and the wall but I smoothed off about 3/4 of the joint so that it is ready for paint.

On Thursday morning I overslept. The temperature outside was 35 degrees. I started out by splitting some wood and then I built a fire in the stove. Then I practiced the piano.

I realized that I had made some surveying errors by reusing some point IDs. I spent some time correcting those errors on my data sheets and on my drawing.

Next, I scraped, sanded, and chiseled the mud on the rest of the bathroom seam. That made the entire seam ready for paint. After lunch and a nap, I painted the seam.

Then I practiced the piano and measured and plotted another survey point.

On Friday I overslept again. I built a fire, practiced the piano, and then removed the masking tape from the seam in the bathroom. I was extremely happy with the results. I left for home at 1:00 o'clock pleased with the progress and with the happy experience of another week at the cabin.
