4/13-16/26 I went up to Camp Serendipity for 4 days: Monday through Thursday.
I started out by waiting in a long line at the Post Office. Then I drove through a lot of rain to get over the pass, but it was dry by the time I arrived at Camp Serendipity at 1:30. I parked in the hairpin turn and carried my gear to the cabin in one trip plus hoisting the flag. After unpacking my gear, I had lunch and a nap.
After that, I did some exercises, had a shower and a shave and then skipped dinner. I also played the piano a little.
On Tuesday morning when I got up, the temperature outside was 34 degrees and then it rained most of the day-just right for working on an indoor project for the morning. I practiced the piano and then removed the old heater from the wall after disabling the breaker. There was an extensive custom bracket holding the heater to the wall which I removed with a couple of screwdrivers.
After lunch and a nap, I walked to the grave with my umbrella in the rain. When I got back, I warmed up and got caught up reading the news headlines.
On Wednesday morning, Dave called before I had even got out of bed. It was unusual for him to call so early, and a day earlier than usual. We had a delightful conversation, mostly about music and his up-coming wedding which is set for January 30.
The temperature outside was cold, at 34 degrees and it snowed lightly off and on most of the day. I practiced the piano, but it didn't go well. I also did some work with the new heater, but my heart wasn't in it.
After lunch and a nap, I walked to the grave. I didn't eat much for dinner.
On Thursday morning I wasn't feeling well at all and after talking it over with Ellen, I decided to go home a day early. I packed up my gear and left for home at 10:00. It was a disappointingly short week, but Ellen thinks I might have caught a bug of some sort. We'll let it clear up and be back next week.
