5/23-27/22 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.

On the way up, I stopped at the Post Office, then Costco, and then had an easy trip over the pass. I stopped at the rest stop and happened to meet up with Barb and Byron. We had a nice chat and then I proceeded on to Camp Serendipity.

I arrived at 1:00 o'clock, made two trips to the cabin with my gear, hoisted the flag, and had my lunch. Then I did my usual exercises and added a new one that I plan to do from now on. Then I had my nap.

Ellen had gotten a warning that the peanut butter she had recently bought might be contaminated and was recalled. I checked the numbers on the four jars of peanut butter we had and saw that they matched the numbers she had sent. Since the numbers matched, I brought the peanut butter downstairs planning to bring it home and throw it away.

Next, I tried out the hot glue gun I had bought and found it simple enough to use. I decided it might work pretty well for my new hypercube. While I was out on the porch, I noticed that the Mason bees we're very busy. They had already filled about 30 of the hundred or so holes in their house .

Back in the loft, I began working on my drawing and discovered that I needed to redo some of the measurements of the concrete stairs.

On Tuesday I started out by practicing the piano. Robert called and we touched bases on our respective activities. Then I went to work making my new hypercube and shooting video shots of what I was doing. After lunch and a nap, I did more work on the hypercube and video.

On Wednesday after practicing the piano and listening to the radio, I worked on the hypercube and video. After lunch and a nap, I went outside and checked the trees. The Cedars on the bluff were doing pretty well. Paul's irrigation drip was nice and steady, and Runty looks good. The irrigation hose at Brian was flowing well enough to have filled the five-gallon bucket which was overflowing. I took 5 gallons of water up to Andrew. Then I pruned and cleared brush and branches at the woodshed to make it possible to begin working on raising the roof back into position.

Back in the cabin, I did some more work on my hypercube and shot some more video. In the middle of the night, I got up to see if the sky might be clear. It was pretty hazy, but I could make out two stars or planets using binoculars and I think those two might be two of the four planets that are in close alignment in a once-in-1000-years event. At least I gave it a try and maybe achieved some success.

On Thursday morning it was 40 degrees outside when I got up. After practicing the piano, I worked on my hypercube using hot glue. It worked pretty well. I also used my DeWalt orbital sander to make the facets on the dowels for gluing. That worked very well. Then I listened to the radio for a while before I had my lunch and a nap.

I went back to work on my hypercube but when I tried to shoot video, the camera indicated it could not make movies for some reason that was not explained. I gave up on the camera and shot some video using my cell phone.

On Friday morning it was 45 degrees and raining when I got up. After practicing the piano, I glued back together my original hypercube that had gotten broken the day before. I had foolishly let it fall off the workbench onto the porch deck. Three of the joints and opened up and I glued them back together. Then before lunch, I did some writing. I left for home at 1:00 o'clock. After having a few minor setbacks, it was still a good week.
