1/27-31/25 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.
The weather was clear and 23 degrees when I arrived at 12:15. There had been no change in the snow or trail conditions again. I brought my gear up in 2 trips using the Trapper Nelson for the second one and hoisting the flag between the trips. After lunch I walked to the grave and chatted with Dave and Nancy. They were walking their two dogs. When I got back, I did my exercises.
On Tuesday morning the temperature outside was 12 degrees. The cabin was down to 63 degrees, so I built a fire in the stove to warm it up. Then I practiced the piano, listened to the radio for a while, and then walked to the grave. After lunch and a nap, I set up the puzzle table and began working on the 5000-piece jigsaw puzzle.
On Wednesday the temperature was 12 degrees again. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio for a while, and then walked to the grave. Just as I got back, John stopped on the road on his way back to his place and we chatted for a while about the weather. After lunch and a nap, I filled and staged 6 water jugs. Then I practiced the piano and worked on the puzzle.
On Thursday morning the temperature outside was 14 degrees. I built another fire in the stove. I practiced the piano, walked to the grave, and then chatted with Robert for a while who had called. After lunch and a nap, I practiced the piano some more and then worked on the puzzle.
On Friday morning it was 30 degrees and snowing outside and there was about 6 inches of new snow on the ground. I practiced the piano, worked on the puzzle a little, and then Ellen called with news about the weather and road conditions. The snow was light enough so I didn't need to shovel at all. I just walked in the old tracks and my boots either pushed the snow out of the way or smashed it down. I made five trips up and down the stairs with gear and water and one trip to start the truck and shovel the snow off the truck. I left for home at 12:30. It was another fun week.
