3/17-21/25 I went up to Camp Serendipity for five days: Monday through Friday.
I arrived at noon and found one inch of new snow on the ground which caused no problems. I brought my gear up in 2 trips and hoisted the flag between them. Then after lunch and a nap, I walked to the grave and then practiced the piano. I also did a couple of sets of exercises.
On Tuesday morning it was 25 degrees outside which kept the snow frozen solid. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, worked on the puzzle for a while and then walked to the grave.
Robert called and we had a nice chat. Then I had my lunch and a nap. When I got up, I listened to the radio while I worked on the puzzle. I listened to the rescue of the astronauts on the radio.
On Wednesday morning the temperature outside was 23 degrees. I practiced the piano, listened to the radio, and walked to the grave.
After lunch and a nap, I worked on the closet and on the puzzle. I also bit the bullet and replaced the two failing light bulbs in the kitchen overhead light fixture. Those bulbs were supposed to last seven years and they didn't even come close. It's a very difficult job replacing the light bulbs in that fixture, but I got the job done after a lot of perseverance and I now have bulbs that are supposed to last 14 years. We'll see.
On Thursday morning the temperature outside was 25 degrees. I got a call from Dave first thing, and we had a great conversation. Then I watered Tiger and practiced the piano.
I walked to the grave and then had my lunch and a nap. I practiced the piano and worked on the puzzle afterwards. I filled and staged 15 jugs of water in the entry room.
On Friday morning the temperature outside was 28 degrees and there was one inch of new snow that accumulated overnight. There was a cold light rain falling. I carried 3 jugs of water down to the truck in the Trapper Nelson backpack and one jug in my hand. I loaded two of those into the truck and carried the remaining two in the backpack on my walk to the grave. I used that weight instead of my usual rucksack full of rocks. It was a fairly miserable walk, being so cold and rainy with the slush on the road but I did it.
When I got back, I traded my soaked gloves for a dry pair and in three more trips down to the truck I loaded the rest of the water jugs. Then I dried off again and prepared to go home. I left for home at 1:00 after a vigorous week.
