With the warm weather, it was time to resume planing and staining. 5/23/01
The bottom log in this picture shows the contrasts between a weathered log, a planed log, and a stained log. My biggest time-consuming mistake in the whole project was not staining the logs as I put them into the building. I didn't realize they would be out in the weather for so long or I might not have made that mistake. Anyway, it's a good thing I like to work with wood so all the extra planing I had to do was fun in spite of taking a long time. 6/5/01
The front of the building is planed and stained. 6/26/01
The southeast wall is planed and stained. 8/30/01
The scaffolding used to plane and stain the upper part of the northwest wall. This is the same scaffolding I used to build the log walls, except here they are hung on the outside of the building instead of on the inside. 8/30/01
