12/18/12 When I arrived this week, I parked in a "safe" spot alongside the road while I shoveled out a narrow parking place. There was a lot of fallen tree debris cluttering up the driveway, all buried in about 3 feet of snow.

12/18/12 Bert and Ernie were disappointed that they didn't get any dog biscuits this week.

12/18/12 The truck is backed into the narrow parking place right next to a fallen log.

12/19/12 This big trunk was from a tree growing just behind Bill, the newest giant sequoia I had planted. It not only fell across my driveway but it went clear across the road. Highway crews had removed it from the road before I got there.

12/19/12 The trunk of the tree narrowly missed my power service pole. If you look closely, you can see my aluminum scoop shovel spanning between the power pole and the tree trunk.

12/19/12 When I went to leave for home, I saw those two trees that had fallen across the road while I was there. Someone had cut through them so that they could drive up the road. The closest one landed just about where I had parked the day before while I shoveled out my parking space.
