6/11/20 Here is the "impossible table" I made as a fun spare-time project. I got the idea from YouTube, had the materials, the tools, and the time so I had fun doing it.

6/11/20 Here is the impossible table situated in its more-or-less final location. It will be a good conversation piece sitting in the corner like that.

7/24/20 The workmen have arrived to install the floor insulation.

7/23/20 This lizard was the second one I caught inside the cabin in the past couple weeks. I haven't a clue as to how they get in. I caught both of them in the box this one is on and I let them go on the front porch.

7/23/20 Here he is on the porch deck. You can judge his size by the balusters which are spaced 4 inches apart.

7/24/20 Robert and Tom are swapping the two front tires on the skidder. Here they are rolling the right tire over to temporarily lean it against the dozer blade.

7/24/20 Here they are rolling the left tire over to the right side of the skidder to mount it there.

7/29/20 The insulation in the floor.

7/30/20 The completed restraint for the water heater is bolted to the bedrock.

7/31/20 The first stones are placed in the front landing. You can see the weighted porch crane hook hanging down in the center of the picture. The three rebar S-hooks hanging from it form an effective grapple which I used to lift and manipulate some of the bigger rocks. You can also see the crane control lying on the step behind the hook.

8/3/20 I used an old patio umbrella for shade so I could do the heavy work of moving fairly big rocks around to form the "Legal Landing" for the front staircase as required by the building inspector.

8/6/20 Here is the completed "Legal Landing". The final inspection was made the next day on 8/7/20. I passed with flying colors and with compliments from the building inspector on my craftmanship, both for the landing and the water-heater restraint. This was a momentous milestone since it changed our status from being 29-year-long owners of a construction site to being brand new home-owners of an official house. Rarely has this project given me such a feeling of exhilaration as I experienced on August 7.

8/21/20 The long-awaited Certificate of Occupancy!
